UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION 2018
Students may apply for two Honours courses and one General course at the most.
Each Application is to be made on separate online application form.
Application fee is to be paid separately for each application.
For each subject there are separate eligibility criteria and the applications without the eligible marks will be summarily rejected during scrutiny.
After filling up the on-line form, verify all details and only then submit the form online.
After submission, you may take a print out of the Application Form (for YOUR future reference) which will come on the screen on submitting the form and must take the printout of the bank PAY-IN-SLIP.
STANDING INSTRUCTIONS FOR C.B.C.S. SYSTEM
For B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Honours) - Student will have to choose one Core Course (Honours) from among the subjects offered in the drop down box and two Generic Elective Courses, GE-1 and GE-2 from among the subjects offered in the drop down box.
For B.A./B.Com. (General) - Student chooses two Discipline Specific Core Courses, DSC-1A and DSC-2A and one Generic Elective, GE-1 from among the subjects offered in the drop down box. The B.A. course will be known as B.A. [DSC-1 subject chosen (eg. B.A. in Bengali, if Bengali is chosen as DSC-1 subject)] and the student will have to study SEC (Skill Enhancement Course) and DSE (Discipline Specific Electives) related to DSC-1 subject chosen, in the following semesters.
For B.Sc. (General) - student chooses three Discipline Specific Core Courses (DSC-1, DSC-2, DSC-3). The B.Sc. course will be known as B.Sc. [DSC-1 subject chosen (eg. B.Sc. in Chemistry, if Chemistry is chosen as DSC-1 subject)] and the student will have to study SEC (Skill Enhancement Course) and DSE (Discipline Specific Electives) related to DSC-1 subject chosen, in the following semesters.

PAYMENT OF ON-LINE APPLICATION FEES
Payment Options (make payment either through online method or to AXIS Bank Branches)
Online Payment: Payment can be made through Debit Card / Credit Card / Internet Banking.
Payment to AXIS Bank Branches: Cash payment, over the Counter.
• Sign the Bank PAY-IN-SLIP and pay the application fee, to the designated branches of AXIS Bank on or before 21ST JUNE, 2018.
• The online Application will be accepted and registered by the College, only after the College receives the intimation from the AXIS Bank about the payment made by the candidate.
• If any candidate does not find his/her name in the Provisional Merit Lists on 25THJUNE 2018, must report to the college authority with valid payment documents on or before 27THJUNE 2018 (strictly within 1:00 PM).
• The applications for which the fee is paid to non-designated branches and/or after the last date will not be registered, even if AXIS Bank accepts the application fee.
• Forms for which the application fee is not paid within due date, will not be registered.
• Once the application fee is paid, no refund can be claimed for any reason whatsoever.

Candidates seeking admission to Honours Courses must have secured 45% in Aggregate (for SC or ST candidate the minimum Aggregate required is 40%), minimum 50% marks in the Subject chosen as Honours (or equivalent related/alternative subject) and minimum 30% marks in the Subjects chosen as General Subjects.
Candidates seeking admission to General Courses must have secured 45% in Aggregate (for SC or ST candidate the minimum aggregate required is 40%) and minimum 30% marks in the Subjects chosen as General Subjects.
Candidates who have passed H.S. or equivalent Examination not earlier than 2016 (i.e. passed in 2018, 2017 and 2016) are eligible to apply directly.
Candidates who have passed H.S. or equivalent Examination in the year 2015 & remained unsuccessful in Part I Examination in 2017 (i.e. even after two attempts) under VU, but intend to get admission as a fresh candidate, would be required to enroll normally (by filling up the required information). An application, seeking Special Permission, is also required to be submitted to the Secretary, UG Council, Vidyasagar University, through Principal, Jhargram Raj College, to be received at the University and Special Permission is to be issued by the University, on V.U. specified dates**. Duly signed Special Permission must be produced at the time of document verification (after online counselling) to the College / respective Department, within the due date.
**I. Prayer of Special Permission for admission forwarded by the College to be received at the Vidyasagar University: 08.06.2018 to 20.06.2018.
**II. Date of Special Permission to be issued by Vidyasagar University: 25.06.2018 to 29.06.2018.
Admission will be done on the basis of Merit. Merit Index will be calculated as given below:
MERIT INDEX : % MARKS OF THE SUBJECT CHOSEN AS HONOURS OR EQUIVALENT + 10% OF AGGREGATE (OF BEST FIVE SUBJECTS)
Marks in all subjects indicated in the HS/+2 level mark sheet must be entered in the application form.
Absent in a subject is treated as 0 (zero) marks and hence makes a candidate ineligible.
